Rammstein is simply a great foreign language metal band, and even better, one you don't need to speak German fluently to enjoy. At their core, the instrumentals are often very simple, but what's shaped around that has been quite entertaining with empowering choruses that just have a punch, and fair industrial and progressive qualities thrown in for good measure. Critics weren't very savvy towards the previous album, Rosenrot, but Liebe Ist Fur Da makes up for this in every respect, with some of the qualities being Rammstein at their best. The comparison for best Rammstein album was to me between Reise, Reise and Sehnsucht, now with this release, the decision will be an album more complex. From the get-go, this release satisfies, doing a great job at resembling 1998's Sehnsucht than this decade's career. This is great, because they would have a hard time trumping the progressive qualities of the awesome Reise, Reise. Whether Germany has experienced a thing called the guitar solo, the instrumentals are tightened, and doesn't feel like they are trying to hard like Mutter somewhat did. The progressive elements haven't been entirely demolished, but the shifted focus to the instruments rectifies this and its moments like the main riff to Rammlied rival that of Du Hast, even if the verses goes in Mutter's direction. Pussy is quite similar to 2005's Amerika in that it does incorporate English lyrics and isn't the most serious, but in a good way for how abstract a sex anthem can be, even if the lyrics aren't up with hard rock "standards", but the guitar riff shows up at the perfect time in the latter half of the verse. The title track is also superb, Richard Z. is riffing very well and feels like long lost Guns n Roses demos, that probably never existed. Who knows if we'll see a better Rammstein album, but its a true gem in the foreign language department and a great step sideways from mainstream metal of Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage.
